Construction of exterior sculptural compositions of solid stone to be gifted to countries, cities and peoples located in the immediate vicinity of the Balkans. The idea is to provoke public debate and public reaction in a positive direction for deepening and developing the friendship between Bulgaria, the Bulgarian people and the opposite country.
As an artist and a real participant in the cultural life of Bulgaria/Balkans/Europe, I am aware of the responsibility towards society to create art that has the potential and the necessary qualities to stand the test of time, both physically and conceptually. In this way, to reach a result that even after 200 years and more the work still exists and has a clear and concise message that is valid regardless of the political or social conjuncture.
The aim is to provoke communication with our friendly neighbouring and distant countries. Communication on a friendly basis at high governmental, diplomatic, administrative and cultural levels.
With this project, we as a society declare that the foundations of friendship exist, and it is up to us to build on them.
Nine stone blocks 100/100/100cm placed one on top of the other form a 9m high pillar with a square section. It has engraved relief images and inscriptions on the 2nd block from the ground with the bilingual inscription "PILLAR OF FRIENDSHIP", relief of two friendly shaking hands...
The pillar symbolically represents those pillars that are an integral part of buildings built of stone and bear the entire weight of the building and remain often invisible to residents and passers-by, despite the important function they perform.
